On the streets, aside from tourists, one will see far less non-European faces than in the average European city. Perhaps the most apt symbol for contemporary Europe are the famously peaceful and picturesque béguinage in Bruges, which are home to women, mostly elderly ones, who spend time in self-reflection without being disturbed by the outside world. In the centre, close to the hystorical Markt and Burg square, I3 architects curated this walled courtyard of a neo-classical building dated from the Dutch period early 19th century.
